Pastor John Yeager and his wife, Debbie, have lived in Huntington since 1991, so coming to Enslow Park from Eleanor is like coming home without ever having left. other churches may have succumbed, this disaster drew the church family even closer. While there, many new programs were established including: topical Wednesday night bible studies during Lent, Advent, and VBS; Movie Night; EPC Ladies Group; a Fifth Sunday Night Music Series, and Adult/Youth Bible Study. The Eleanor Church also serves the community needs including: AA, Choose 2 Lose, and a very active Cub and Boy Scout program. Debbie serves as the Director of a weekend Snack-Bag program for 30- plus children, started and oversees a Free Little Library, and established and is the editor of the church monthly newsletter. Pastor John has served the Presbytery of WV on the Nominating and Administration Committees, as a presenter at the “Festival of Faith”, and contributor to the “2020 Nurturing Faith Ideas” publication. He also served as one of three pastors providing interim support for UKirk at Marshall (2016-17).Pastor John has authored a three-book-series titled, Called to Love - Connecting the Lectionary to Real Life. He is also active with the recovery community having served on the board of Recovery Point (2010-12) and he re-established a weekly recovery meeting at River Park Hospital. He currently meets with inmates once a month at theWestern Regional Jail. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2014 after 24 years of service with the Huntington District. He holds a Master’s Degree from Marshall and a Bachelor’s from the University of Cincinnati. Debbie is a retired R.N. and Case Manager and sings with River Magic Chorus Sweet Adelines.
